I am the #1 biggest fan of the Minecraft fanfiction e-book "Cubeworld" by Karl Olsberg. In Book 2, "Back into the Cubeworld", Olsberg has an author self-insert who's a patient in an insane asylum that thinks he's God. I think that tells you all you need to know about this book
